Visit to the Hulu Langat Hot Spring

Every year during the first day of Hari Raya, we will pay a visit to my father's friend, Uncle Raja's home at his kampung at Hulu Langat, Selangor. It's always a much anticipated visit since we will get to have a taste of the vast spread of savoury Malay food. There will be beef rendang, chicken, lemang, ketupat and many more. We will also be able have a feel of the kampung life where there's an abundance of fresh greeneries everywhere unlike being stuck in the urban concrete world.

After the visit to Uncle Raja's house, we decided to stop by the hot spring. I pass by the hot spring every year and vow to stop by the next visit. And I finally did this year. The hot spring is located just by the trunk road and easily accessible to anyone.

Here's the hot spring which is located by the roadside. There are lots more hot springs along the journey which I believe should be more secluded and private. It's quite interesting for the kids since it's their first experience to the hot spring. Ok, it's also my first visit to the hot spring. it's an ad-hoc decision and we totally went unprepared without any towel and me in my jeans.

We sat down on the side and dipped our leg in. The water is really hot and we have to retract our foot a few times until we got use to the hot water. Sebastian was enjoying himself but Maximus needed some persuading.

Here's another photo of the boys. Maximus with his purple minion face.

Daddy and the boys. Enjoying the tranquil atmosphere while soaking our feet in the hot spring and having a nice chat. Where's mummy? Hehehe ... mummy wearing dress so it's inconvenient for her. So she's our official photographer with her iPhone.

This hot spring is not that clean since it's public and anyone can soak in it. After some googling, I found that those private hot spring are much cleaner since they don't allow people to soak in the water. You will need to scoop the water out to do whatever you want with it. :) There are some hot springs that are just for ladies for more privacy. I will come prepared the next time and visit those private hot springs which charge a minimal fee.

So what's the benefit of hot spring? Well, it helps:-
  • To detoxify
  • Better Sleep
  • Reduce Stress
  • Treat Skin Infection
  • Boost Immune System
  • Lower Blood Pressure
  • Increase Blood Circulation
  • Back, Shoulder and Neck Pain

The flowing river behind the hot spring. If you want, you can wade through the river to the opposite where there's hot spring water flowing out as well.
