Apart from norm Ramadhan Bazaar, buffer dinner at nice hotel … a dose of Middle Eastern food will be appropriate for this Raya season. So we decide to have buka puasa (break fast) dinner at the Middle Eastern restaurant in Sri Petaling called Al Diafah. The restaurant occupied 2 shop lots of 3 storey high.
On the ground floor, is their retail boutique for dates and baklava lovers whereas the restaurant is located on the 1st and 2nd Floor.
The interior design is very Arabian, grand and beautiful.
Since it is Ramadhan, they offered buffet spread @ RM75++/pax. The main dish, of course is their famous Mendy Lamb and Rice (a must order here). The lamb is cooked with the rice, it was tender and the rice was delicious –fragrant, buttery but not too oily. I could taste lamb ‘juice’ submerged into the rice. Didn’t manage to snap a picture as people started to tuck in already!
They served 2 types of soup, Lamb & Oatmeal soup and Lentil Soup. Personally, I preferred the Lamb & Oatmeal soup, very rich and creamy! It goes absolutely well with the Arab Bun … yum!
If you are not into lamb, they also serves chicken and beef. Their desserts are limited to fresh fruits and crème caramel. The crème caramel is rich and not too sweet. Dates are on the spread too and I have plenty of them – love it!
Amongst other drinks, it is worth to try their hot milk tea and date juice aka the Vimto juice – taste like grape juice, some says red wine :-P
